Mookie O'Hara is the creator of the bootie babe brand.
After graduating from CSU Chico, Mookie was hired by SF based software firm Macromedia to run their Authorized Developer program.
While working there he became interested in Macintosh computers and interactive software.
O'Hara then opened Skipnosis Studios and produced a variety of projects for clients such as Sony, CNET and Macromedia.
He also launched his talent agency Tornado Tributes and produced many top tier music acts in the SF bay area.
Mookie was the lead instigator for SuperBooty, a 15-piece funk band that performed with legendary artists P-Funk, Kool and the Gang, The Isley Brothers and Morris Day and The Time.
His band is the inspiration for the cheeky beauty and fashion brand he would develop in the years to come.
After twelve years and 300 concerts SuperBooty retired and O'Hara decided to move forward with his beauty concept and developed nail lacquers as the launch line.
He noticed that many of the brands were using standardized bottle shapes and realized that there was a market for something more custom and collectible.
Mookie also thought the beauty industry was taking itself a bit too seriously and wanted to inject some humor into the market.
So he developed and patented the torso shaped bottle design that is the central feature of his brand and product lines.
There have been several nail lacquer collections since the launch in 2013.
O'Hara is developing new ones for 2023 and beyond so stay tuned!
Over the last five years Mookie has continued to develop the Bootie Babe brand, designing backpacks, shoes, headphones and many other products.
